Discussion: Queer Asian Identities

Join CQA in our next general body meeting, with TASA, this Sunday 10/27 at 2pm in Lerner 569!  We’ll be having a discussion on “Queer Asian Identities” (including East Asian, South Asian, and/or Middle Eastern Identities). This will be a dialogue on the ways in which queer identities can play out in different cultures: how people of this diversity of cultures address such issues within the cultural context, and how we can better understand the importance of the intersections of identity in addressing racism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and any other forms of exclusivity.

As always, snacks will be provided, so come out and spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with us!

Please read the article “Why I Stay Closeted in Asia” on BuzzFeed…which will serve as one of the focal points of discussion at the meeting on Sunday.
