Here’s a message from your wonderful Columbia Democrats, asking you to stop by tomorrow and Friday to make a quick call to help repeal DADT!
This Thursday and Friday the College Dems be having a phone bank from 10:00-6:00 on the Lerner Ramps. We are trying to get as many Columbia students as possible to come by and make a quick one minute phone call to their senators and urge them to vote for this year’s Defense Authorization Bill, which includes an amendment to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. We will have scripts ready for students to use so it will be very quick and easy. Repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which bans gays from serving openly in the military, would be a huge step forward for gay rights, and the current bill is our biggest opportunity to do so. We need to insist that our senators and congressmen vote to end the inequality that exists in our country’s military and support this legislation.
Thanks so much!
This is a great (and easy!) opportunity to make your voice heard at the level where it can make the most change, so be sure to stop by tomorrow or Friday!
