Recognize someone in the Columbia community who has made a great impact on your life!

Throughout this past year, there have been people in our lives who have been influential in our growth and development, both academically and personally.  Often times, these individuals may help us without asking for anything in return. Rather, they help because they want us to succeed in all of the endeavors we pursue.  The Columbia Mentoring Initiative is giving you a rare opportunity to personally thank these individuals and give them the recognition they greatly deserve.  Regardless of who this person may be, we welcome you to honor your nominee’s commitment to making a positive impact on your life at Columbia, and exemplifying the characteristics that are essential for a great mentor, friend, or role model. Our annual Mentor Appreciation Awards Reception will occur on May 4th, 2009 from 1pm-3pm in the Satow Room.

Your “Mentor Nominee” does not need to be a professor, advisor, or professional mentor (although if they have been influential in your college life, we certainly welcome nominations for them as well).  Your nominee can be your best friend or someone who just took some time to make your day a little brighter. Please click on the following link for the short application: http://www.tinyurl.com/cmiawards2010.  We will be accepting nominations for these awards until Wednesday April 21st, 2010. Feel free to contact us at cmi@columbia.edu if you have any questions pertaining to the reception.
