[Queer]LionSHARE. *RAWR!*

Columbia Queer AllianceThough my head may explode if I hear about any more internship/job interviews, I would recommend that you check this out as you’re going through the application/decision process. It’s the HRC “Best Places to Work 2010″ survey. It seems to me that if you have decided to “work,” you might as well be somewhere that’s, well, nice to you. Though Queerty notes that the ranking process may be a bit flawed, it’s a generally helpful study. Also, see the Huffington Post for a consolidated list of the WORST companies (i.e. – companies to avoid).

Or, you could just do thesis research with me this summer! Come on, it’s way more fun than working for some shmo’ stealing money from people.

Join us for the National March on Washington

Join a number of organizations from Columbia University in heading down to the March on Washington on Sunday, October 11th, 2009.

The march has one single demand:

Equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states. We will accept no less and will work until it is achieved. Equality Across America exists to support grassroots organizing in all 435 Congressional Districts to achieve full equality.

We are guaranteed equal protection under the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. Free and equal people do not bargain for or prioritize our rights. Full equality necessarily includes all members of the LGBT community and encompasses, but is not limited to:

  • The right to work our jobs and go to school free of harassment and discrimination.
  • The right to safety in our daily lives, and protection from hate crimes.
  • The right to equitable healthcare, and the right to donate blood.
  • The right to equitable immigration policies.
  • The right to marry.
  • The right to serve in the military openly.

Interested in going or helping us organizing? Register Now to receive more information and learn how you can reserve a spot on a bus heading down to Washington with Columbia students.

Looking for more information about the March? Look no further than their official website.

UPDATE: Our free buses are full. You may now register to take a bus from 116th Street to the march by signing up online and paying $34:

This is still the cheapest option for getting to and from the march!

**Sponsoring Organizations so far include: Columbia Queer Alliance, International Socialist Organization, Everyone Allied Against Homphobia
